Scholarship Recipient

We are happy to announce that the OCHIA Board of Directors has awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Melody Garcia, a 19-year-old Santa Ana resident whose mother was kidnapped and strangled to death in Anaheim in 2014. Melody has aspirations to become a prosecutor and is attending Santa Ana College this semester. This is the first time OCHIA has awarded this scholarship.

OCHIA’s ability to award this type of scholarship is a direct result of the fundraising efforts we made throughout 2019 and pre-COVID 2020, as well as donations we received. We are grateful to each of you who have supported our association in this way.

If you are aware of anyone who would be eligible for future scholarships, or anyone who would like to financially support us, please don’t hesitate to contact one of the board members.
